Visit of the External Evaluation Committee for the Accreditation of the Undergraduate Study Programme of the Department of Physiotherapy at the University of West Attica
We inform you that the scheduled on-site visit of the External Evaluation Committee for the Accreditation of the Undergraduate Study Programme of the Department of Physiotherapy at the University of West Attica was successfully completed during the week of 18/09 to 24/09/22.
The visit took place on 19 and 20 September 2022, and included meetings between the Committee of External Experts and the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Welfare and President of the Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP), Professor Efstathia Papageorgiou, the members of the University’s Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP), the Chair of the Department of Physiotherapy, Professor Georgios Gioftsos, the Internal Evaluation and Quality Assurance Team (OMEA) of the department, and faculty members. Also in attendance were members of the Special Technical and Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP, ETEP), administrative staff of the department, student representatives, and partners from external public and private sector organisations.
The accreditation process ensures that the study programme offered by the Department of Physiotherapy meets all formal specifications as defined by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE). It also ensures that the learning outcomes, knowledge, skills, and competencies of the graduates fully correspond to the expected academic, societal, and labour market standards in terms of scientific and professional qualifications.
The objective of the accreditation process for the Undergraduate Study Programme of the Department of Physiotherapy is to ensure the achievement of high-quality education and the effective operation of the department, the continuous improvement of its educational and research work, and the optimal delivery of its services in accordance with international practices and the guidelines of HAHE.
