Research on meaningful and responsible uses of AI across diverse learning and educational contexts.

Research Statement

Research lies at the intersection of Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence, learning and education. The emphasis is on technologies that support meaningful learning, respond to human needs and can be evaluated in realistic educational settings. Particular attention is given to humanoid robots, affective computing, AI literacy and unplugged approaches to Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.

Research on meaningful and responsible uses of AI across diverse learning and educational contexts (from 6 to 60 years old).

Emotion AI

Affective Computing, emotion recognition and emotion-aware learning environments deploying physiological, behavioural and psychological tools.

CS & AI Unplugged

Experiential learning and collaborative activities to teach and learn computational thinking and AI literacy, plugged and unplugged (with and without electricity).
