About Me

I have a degree in Informatics/ Athens University of Economics and Business (2001) and a Master's degree (MSc) in Multimedia and Internet Programming/ Loughborough University (UK)(2002). In 2009, I started my Doctoral Thesis (Ph.D.) in Emotion Artificial Intelligence (Emotion AI)/ Affective Computing (AC), in the Cultural Technology & Communication Department, University of the Aegean under the joint supervision of Prof. Athanasios Daradoumis (Aegean) and Prof. Santi Caballé Llobet (Open University of Catalonia, Spain), which I completed with honors in October 2013.

My professional career began in 1998 as a part-time junior Oracle developer in Dynamic Business Solutions (DBS SA), and then as a Web Developer in European Dynamics SA. In 2003, I was appointed as a Primary/Secondary Education teacher of Informatics, where I stayed until 2017. In the meanwhile, from 2004 to 2008, I joined the Information Society of the Greek Ministry of Education. Since 10/2017, I have been employed as a Lecturer in the Dept. of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) of the University of West Attica (UniWA), where I remain until today.

I have taught for over 20 years, at all levels of formal and non-formal education (Primary, Secondary, High, Professional Schools, Institutes of Education & Training, et al). Since 2015, I am a Certified Trainer at the National School of Public Administration and Local Government (ESDDA). My research interests are in the field of Education Technology and Emotion AI, in which, I have more than 47 publications in International Journals and Conferences. I am a senior member of the UNIWA/Computer and Network Services Research Lab (CoNSeRT lab, https://consert.uniwa.gr/). I have over 15 years of experience in both Greek, and European Research Programs (Information Society, FP7, Horizon 2020, Erasmus+, et al). In the past, I was appointed as the Greek National Coordinator of the Asian-Europen Classroom Network (AEC-NET, www.classnet.asef.org), for 2 years (2007-09).
