Georgios Bardis holds a Diploma in Computer Engineering &
Informatics from the University of Patras, Greece, a MSc degree in Computer
Science (major: Software Systems) from the University of California, Santa
Barbara (UCSB), USA and a PhD degree in Informatics from the University of
Limoges, France. During his pre-doctoral studies, he worked at the European Organization
for Nuclear Research (CERN), Geneva, Switzerland, at the Departments of Computer
Science and Electrical & Computer Engineering of University of
California, Santa Barbara, USA and at the Computing Centers of the Departments
of Computer Engineering & Informatics and Civil Engineering
of University of Patras, Greece.
He has worked as an
IT&T Consultant participating in the management team of the consortium
implementing European Union project European Public Health Information
Network (EUPHIN) and as a Researcher and Engineer in the context of
Research Projects co-funded by the European Union.
He has experience in a
wide range of educational levels and institutions as a Computer Science /
Informatics instructor, including the Master program of the Department of
Informatics of University of West Attica (previously of TEI of Athens) in
co-operation with University of Limoges, the postgraduate program of the
National School of Public Administration of Greece, the undergraduate program
of the Department of Informatics of TEI of Athens, the BSc program in Computer
Information Systems of Deree College of the American
College of Greece, the foundation programs of University of Essex and Brunel
University at the British Council in Athens, etc.
He is a member of the
research laboratory Advanced Knowledge, Image & Information Systems (AKIIS)
of University of West Attica. He serves as a member of the Editorial Review
Board of International Journal of Systems Biology and
Biomedical Technologies (IJSBBT) and as a reviewer for International Journal of
Digital Earth, Taylor & Francis Group. He was appointed twice member of the Committee of
Expert Scientists responsible for the National Accreditation Examination of
Professional Expertise in the areas of Information Technology Applications and
Telematics and served as a regular member of the organizing committee of the
International Conference on Computer Graphics and Artificial Intelligence (3IA)
co-organized by TEI of Athens and University of Limoges.
He is currently a
permanent Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics and Computer
Engineering, School of Engineering, University of West Attica. He is teaching
the undergraduate courses Computer Graphics and Data Structures while
participating in the under-graduate course Decision and Process Management
Systems. He is also co-teaching for the common postgraduate courses Fundamentals
of Computer Graphics and Advanced Computer Graphics – Image Synthesis
and Rendering of the Master Program co-organized with University of
Limoges.
His research interests
and relevant published work pertain to the areas of Intelligent Computer
Graphics, Declarative Modeling and Multicriteria Decision Analysis.
